<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><h2 style="text-align: left;"><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Chevrolet Definition</span></b></h2>Source (google.com.pk)<br /><br />Chevrolet ( - French origin) (also known as Chevy) is a brand of automobile, produced by General Motors (GM). It is the top selling GM marque and the best known brand of GM worldwide, with "Chevrolet" or "Chevy" being at times synonymous with GM.<br />Chevrolet offers over 20 vehicles and many different enhanced versions in its home market. The brand's vehicles range from subcompact cars to medium duty commercial trucks. Its number one sellers in the United States include the Silverado pickup, which is currently the 2nd best-selling vehicle in the United States behind the Ford F-Series and the Impala, which is the number one selling car with a domestic nameplate in the United States.<br />History<br />North American history<br />Chevrolet was co-founded by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant. Louis Chevrolet was a race-car driver, and William Durant, founder of General Motors, had been forced out of GM in 1910; he wanted to use Chevrolet's designs to rebuild his own reputation as a force in the automobile industry. As head of Buick Motor Company, prior to founding GM, Durant had hired Chevrolet to drive Buicks in promotional races.<br />Chevrolet first used its "bowtie" logo in 1913. This logo is said to have been designed from wallpaper Durant once saw in a French hotel. Another theory of the design of the mark is that it is a stylized version of the shape of Switzerland, Louis Chevrolet's birthplace. It is not, as sometimes claimed, a "Swiss cross": the geometric shape on the Swiss flag is a Greek cross, and does not resemble the Chevrolet logo.<br />In 1915, Durant made a trip to Toronto, Ontario to determine the possibility of setting up production facilities in Canada. After meeting with "Colonel Sam" McLaughlin, whose McLaughlin Motor Car Company manufactured the McLaughlin-Buick, it was agreed the Chevrolet Motor Car Company of Canada, operated by McLaughlin, would be created to build Chevrolet cars in Canada. Three years later, the two Canadian operations (Chevrolet was by then a part of GM in the United States) were purchased by GM to become General Motors of Canada Ltd.<br />By 1916, Chevrolet was profitable enough to allow Durant to buy a majority of shares in GM. After the deal was completed in 1917, Durant was president of General Motors, and Chevrolet was merged into GM, becoming a separate division. In the 1918 model year, Chevrolet introduced the Model D, a V8-powered model in 4-passenger roadster and 5-passenger tourer models. These cars had 288in3 engines with Zenith carburetors and 3 speed transmissions.<br />Famous Chevy models include the large and luxurious Impala (1958) and the innovative air-cooled rear-engined Corvair. Chevrolet had a great influence on the American automobile market during the 1950s and 1960s. In 1963, one out of every ten cars sold in the United States was a Chevrolet.<br />The basic Chevrolet small-block V-8 design has remained in continuous production since its debut in 1955, longer than any other mass-produced engine design in the world auto industry, though current versions share few if any parts interchangeable directly with the original. Descendants of the basic small-block OHV V-8 design platform in production today have been much modified with advances such as aluminum block and heads, electronic engine management, and sequential port fuel injection, to name just a few improvements over the 54-model-year design life of the engine concept to date. The small block Chevrolet V-8 is used in current production model (2008) Impala sedans, a variety of light and medium duty Chevrolet trucks, and the current generation Corvette sports car. Depending on the vehicle type in which they're installed, they are built in diaplacements from 5.3 to 7.0 litres with outputs ranging from 180 to over as installed at the factory. It will also be used as a performance option in the forthcoming (2009 model year) revival of the Chevrolet Camaro. The engine design has also been used over the years in GM products built and sold under the Pontiac. Oldsmobile, Buick, Opel (Germany) and Holden (Australia) nameplates. Recently, 6-litre, versions of the small-block V-8 designed initially for the C-5 and C-6 Corvettes have been installed in factory-built high performance versions of the Cadillac CTS sedan known as the CTS-V.<br /><br /><h2 style="text-align: center;"><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Chevrolet Free Wallpaper Pics Pictures Hd for Desktop Iphone Mobile HD 1080p</span></b></h2><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Opel Says Second Generation Ampera Will be Cheaper

Opel CEO Nick Reilly said the price of the Ampera will be further reduced by economies of scale due to increased demand and more localized production: “We have an education job to do on the technology of the Ampera, but that will come in time. We hope that it will establish itself as a market leader and we’ll be able to capitalize on that with a cheaper, more expressively designed second generation model”.</span> <br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Economies of scale could also come from fitting the Ampera’s extended-range powertrain in other Opel and Vauxhall models. If this happens, then the cost of tooling and manufacturing would drop significantly further lowering the costs.</span> <br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Nevertheless, </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">GM </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">has to first assess sales of the model before it goes ahead with any decision, such as manufacturing its next generation in Europe, as it currently builds it alongside the </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Volt </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">at its Warren, Michigan plant in the US. So far, things are looking good since 7,000 of the 10,000 units allocated for 2012 are already presold, with 75% of the sales going to fleet customers. </span> <br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Opel would also like to give the next-gen Ampera a more aggressive style that will be more in line with the other models in its range. </span> <br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">The German firm's designers didn’t have a lot of freedom in the first generation because of the restraints forced on them by the car being a rebadged Volt. If they get the green light, the 2015 model will follow the company's new design “language” , recently previewed in the brand-new </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Opel Zafira Tourer</span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">. </span></div><script type="text/javascript"><br />var addthis_config = {"data_track_clickback":true};<br /></script> <script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=snakenoise" type="text/javascript"><br /></script><br /><div style="color: #990000; And what are automotive groups such as </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">General Motors</span><span style="font-family: Verdana;"> if not one, big (and bailout-happy) family? Platform and parts sharing is the name of the game in order to reduce costs and maximize profit margins. But what happens when two brands, like Opel and Chevrolet start to overlap each other?</span></span><br /><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Having introduced five new cars in the past 18 months and on the verge of launching a major TV, print and digital campaign this summer to celebrate its centennial anniversary, </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Chevrolet</span><span style="font-family: Verdana;"> is trying to become more premium.</span><a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2011/08/opel-and-chevrolet-too-close-for.html" name="more" style="color: #990000; text-decoration: none;"></a><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">However, as it becomes more attractive, while also retaining its value for money position, it starts to tiptoe on Opel's shoes. And that, according to Opel’s CEO Nick Reilly, is a problem they need to work out.</span><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Reilly suggests that, even though research shows only 1.5% of Opel buyers would consider a Chevy, </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Opel</span><span style="font-family: Verdana;"> still needs to move more upmarket in order to differentiate itself</span><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">“Undoubtedly Chevrolet will move up the pecking order with the quality of new products that have been launched and which are planned for launch,” Reilly told British magazine Autocar. “Therefore it’s logical that we’d like to see the Opel/Vauxhall product range and company image move up accordingly to keep them separated.”</span><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Wayne Brannon, President of Chevrolet Europe, thinks that what sets his brand apart is its American identity: "If you ask 100 Europeans what they know about Chevrolet, research shows that 85 of them think of 'Chevy' as a brand with American roots and values. No other volume brand in this marketplace can say that".</span><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Reilly agrees stating, “Chevrolet is an American brand with its own reputation and a goal of always being priced below the mainstream. In contrast, Opel and Vauxhall are very European brands. Cars such as the Meriva and Ampera show that we can lead in areas of technology in a way that Chevrolet won’t”.</span><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Right. Like Chevrolet would ever have the technology to develop and build something called the </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Volt</span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">, start selling it in the US and then let Opel rebadge it as the </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Ampera </span><span style="font-family: Verdana;">for Europe…</span><br /><div><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br /></span></div><br /><br /><div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b><i>PHOTO GALLERY</i></b></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0HXQXwSzGvZY9BqQpyrCyMyR7p8B1de3WMU5pZgJ_rjFq22mZs9Dh1lpNOLbFOxhRULsTZmrjat0jXxkHJHcEGZfSztIl1ky-j0Lt2KXPVJiDIkwH763m1SkMIzjWaUvdUO7B_MdzJf8/s1600/258176+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0HXQXwSzGvZY9BqQpyrCyMyR7p8B1de3WMU5pZgJ_rjFq22mZs9Dh1lpNOLbFOxhRULsTZmrjat0jXxkHJHcEGZfSztIl1ky-j0Lt2KXPVJiDIkwH763m1SkMIzjWaUvdUO7B_MdzJf8/s640/258176+%25282%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBysk8z9xQCEiQW77r1ijDV-iE9Lx0PYKEfYMW5Fip2IS3swxOuVBdBhpmVq80zeEi0l4_-PsV_Wwt5THC2sT60TaWGW_AXXc8Od3YFii_fynpB3xfxm91DDLOmXWxiq2XZHw4-zdO7OU/s1600/Chevrolet_Cruze.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBysk8z9xQCEiQW77r1ijDV-iE9Lx0PYKEfYMW5Fip2IS3swxOuVBdBhpmVq80zeEi0l4_-PsV_Wwt5THC2sT60TaWGW_AXXc8Od3YFii_fynpB3xfxm91DDLOmXWxiq2XZHw4-zdO7OU/s640/Chevrolet_Cruze.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDS9RUyG4N3ZFP_sz3UIG4-oAGhGTY9uez63JUEkgdz7U6B3SC5nO8wcYW7C8vpg149iYLUbeP48yDDZmTkepVk3CO9HU5cLfR90-ZLt_O3pzPwUIA3-uS70hOT2ptRKNrLJk0NGpDwtw/s1600/Chevrolet_Volt_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDS9RUyG4N3ZFP_sz3UIG4-oAGhGTY9uez63JUEkgdz7U6B3SC5nO8wcYW7C8vpg149iYLUbeP48yDDZmTkepVk3CO9HU5cLfR90-ZLt_O3pzPwUIA3-uS70hOT2ptRKNrLJk0NGpDwtw/s640/Chevrolet_Volt_.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRgkyA1I8KyepRj2y6szKGDpnno-cd4rTNQ90zTzexQfvXAX8ArGzrIfnEx_AGzjI-uJWcauO735m8cOq3C-fwnRwZuMZ7ii7Ory7H-VuFlY44s-2oXKGDZyJULEd60xqiZrTikpFgflk/s1600/Opel_Astra.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRgkyA1I8KyepRj2y6szKGDpnno-cd4rTNQ90zTzexQfvXAX8ArGzrIfnEx_AGzjI-uJWcauO735m8cOq3C-fwnRwZuMZ7ii7Ory7H-VuFlY44s-2oXKGDZyJULEd60xqiZrTikpFgflk/s640/Opel_Astra.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span></div><br /><script type="text/javascript">var addthis_config = {"data_track_clickback":true};</script> <script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=snakenoise" type="text/javascript"></script> Read more In <strong><a href="http://carsandtec.blogspot.com/" target="_new" title="cars">Cars</a></strong></div>

In addition, they need to know their way around with the charging cords –not an easy task as any computer geek knows very well.</span><a href="http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2011/08/evatran-presents-wireless-charging.html" name="more" style="color: #990000; text-decoration: none;"></a><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Evatran says it has the perfect solution for this problem: it’s called Plugless Power and it is a wireless charging system for EVs that is very simple to use (according to the company, that is). Evatron claims it can easily be installed in your garage and requires no serious modifications to the car itself other than a 10-pound adapter bolted to the undercarriage.</span><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Here’s how the Evatran wireless system works:</span><br /><blockquote style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: #efeeee; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; border-left-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-left-style: solid; border-left-width: 5px; font: italic normal normal 13px/normal Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; padding-bottom: 0.8em; padding-left: 1.8em; padding-right: 1.8em; padding-top: 0.8em;"><br /><li style="margin-bottom: 0.25em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Plugless Power recognizes your EV as it approaches and provides parking guidance.</span></li><br /><li style="margin-bottom: 0.25em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Once the car is over the parking pad, the system communicates with your EV based on the SAE J1772 protocol used in corded systems, and automatically starts charging.</span></li><br /><li style="margin-bottom: 0.25em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">The indicator panel communicates charging status.</span></li><br /><li style="margin-bottom: 0.25em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">When your car is fully charged, the system turns off. Demo systems are already available to them for testing performance and functionality.</span><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana;">For new cars, the price of the system can be incorporated in the vehicle’s price or lease scheme. Moreover, Evatran promises that within 24 hours of ordering, you will be contacted to arrange an appointment for the installation.</span><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b><i>PHOTO GALLERY</i></b></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE_hrYMKfG-GVg-v4y5tuZgiWl1FHwKonrNau5pZMIaQvVeYFgAQ5q04-hXh0CjGSiD1F1Z5Q2Gvn8fFn_0CWocJOTdbx5W7jzxdVQ8tLE4erYowziYS6iNZuED4hV31Bl2Pb8cjtOHpk/s1600/Evatran_Wireless_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE_hrYMKfG-GVg-v4y5tuZgiWl1FHwKonrNau5pZMIaQvVeYFgAQ5q04-hXh0CjGSiD1F1Z5Q2Gvn8fFn_0CWocJOTdbx5W7jzxdVQ8tLE4erYowziYS6iNZuED4hV31Bl2Pb8cjtOHpk/s640/Evatran_Wireless_2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7G-t3q0VMsqysJkZgL6mt4mGBPhktdaT5qU2WfvdcOH5XAbzyH-SiQa1lpJo1_aPKp_o2-ov6f4n4yC1waq23SM21Dnfq4rNTJgb3pBCzDLlC3ZAEMy_WQ8jx55lq1bbcueQ1_fozzAo/s1600/Evatran_Wireless_3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7G-t3q0VMsqysJkZgL6mt4mGBPhktdaT5qU2WfvdcOH5XAbzyH-SiQa1lpJo1_aPKp_o2-ov6f4n4yC1waq23SM21Dnfq4rNTJgb3pBCzDLlC3ZAEMy_WQ8jx55lq1bbcueQ1_fozzAo/s640/Evatran_Wireless_3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6XWnRW6-YICyiOI46itLwoeGzf79MjySxYVgBfTQO7PApgybgY4_8GIt-o3Cvc0O_JI4nMPzH-7hEaJgZtaoPwINAKnjxz24tdUtAabA1_9NAjAr8KfsEVnSRHORchib0wu4DWrrERJE/s1600/Evatran_Wireless_4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6XWnRW6-YICyiOI46itLwoeGzf79MjySxYVgBfTQO7PApgybgY4_8GIt-o3Cvc0O_JI4nMPzH-7hEaJgZtaoPwINAKnjxz24tdUtAabA1_9NAjAr8KfsEVnSRHORchib0wu4DWrrERJE/s640/Evatran_Wireless_4.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju6OVjGj3_hRFzS36GthhJe2Fcw9jSx5MXDKMXOnpjPxcthLpUMbV2jx5Ra8OoJ63SlsYeu0MVgBIG4cMlW-6IAtfR8Uh239SFpp-wIKnsQrumlIq1xvBIBJK_bNVKGC-cAd4qJn5h0do/s1600/Evatran_Wireless_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju6OVjGj3_hRFzS36GthhJe2Fcw9jSx5MXDKMXOnpjPxcthLpUMbV2jx5Ra8OoJ63SlsYeu0MVgBIG4cMlW-6IAtfR8Uh239SFpp-wIKnsQrumlIq1xvBIBJK_bNVKGC-cAd4qJn5h0do/s640/Evatran_Wireless_1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #990000; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b><i><br /></i></b></span></div><script type="text/javascript">var addthis_config = {"data_track_clickback":true};</script> <script src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=snakenoise" type="text/javascript"></script> Read more In <strong><a href="http://carsandtec.blogspot.com/" target="_new" title="cars">Cars</a></strong></div>
